Order Granting Privileges and Immunities to the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, and Persons Connected Therewith, in Canada

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, pursuant to paragraph 6(1)(a) of the Foreign Missions and International Organizations ActFootnote *, is pleased hereby to repeal the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Privileges and Immunities Order made on January 21, 1994Footnote **, and to make the annexed Order granting privileges and immunities to the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, and to persons connected therewith, in Canada, in substitution therefor.

Short Title

 This Order may be cited as the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Privileges and Immunities Order.

Privileges and Immunities

 The privileges and immunities accorded to consular posts under section 3 of the Foreign Missions and International Organizations Act are hereby granted to the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, and persons connected therewith, in Canada including members of their families forming part of their households in Canada, who are not nationals or permanent residents of Canada.
