Order Designating the Minister of Industry, Science and Technology as Minister for Purposes of the Statistics Act and for Purposes of the Financial Administration Act with Respect to Statistics Canada

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, is pleased hereby

(a) pursuant to the definition "Minister" in section 2 of the Statistics Act and paragraph (b) of the definition "appropriate Minister" in section 2 of the Financial Administration Act, to revoke Order in Council P.C. 1989-137 of January 30, 1989*;
(b) pursuant to the definition "Minister" in section 2 of the Statistics Act, to designate the Minister of Industry, Science and Technology, a member of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada, as the Minister for the purposes of that Act; and
(c) pursuant to paragraph (b) of the definition "appropriate Minister" in section 2 of the Financial Administration Act, to designate the Minister of Industry, Science and Technology as the appropriate Minister with respect to Statistics Canada for the purposes of that Act.
