An Act for granting to His Majesty certain sums of money for the federal public administration for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025

SUMMARY

This enactment grants the sum of $11,187,495,220 towards defraying charges and expenses of the federal public administration for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025 that are not otherwise provided for.

Preamble

Whereas it appears by message from Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, and the Estimates accompanying that message, that the sums mentioned below are required to defray certain expenses of the federal public administration, not otherwise provided for, for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, and for other purposes connected with the federal public administration;

May it therefore please Your Majesty, that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, that:

Marginal note:Short title

 This Act may be cited as the Appropriation Act No. 3, 2024–25.

Marginal note:$11,187,495,220 granted for 2024–25

 There may be paid out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund a sum not exceeding in the aggregate $11,187,495,220 towards defraying the various charges and expenses of the federal public administration for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, not otherwise provided for, which is the total of the amounts of the items set out in the Supplementary Estimates (A) for that fiscal year as set out in the schedule.

Marginal note:Transfers of appropriations

 The transfers of appropriations set out in the Estimates referred to in section 2 are deemed to have been authorized on April 1, 2024.

Marginal note:Purpose of each item

  •  (1) The amount authorized by this Act to be paid in respect of an item may be paid only for the purposes, and subject to any terms and conditions, specified in the item.

  • Marginal note:Effective date

    (2) The provisions of each item set out in the schedule are deemed to have effect as of April 1, 2024.

Marginal note:Adjustments in accounts of Canada

 An appropriation that is granted by this Act or any other Act and referred to in the schedule may be charged after the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is granted at any time before the day on which the Public Accounts for that fiscal year are tabled in Parliament, for the purpose of making adjustments in the accounts of Canada for that fiscal year that do not require payments out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

Based on the Supplementary Estimates (A), 2024–25, the amount granted is $11,187,495,220, which is the total of the amounts of the items set out in this schedule.
