C.04.400 In this section and in sections C.04.401 to C.04.428
- donor
donor means a donor of blood for plasmapheresis; (donneur)
- human plasma
human plasma means the fluid portion of blood that has been collected by plasmapheresis and stabilized against clotting; (plasma humain)
- plasmapheresis
plasmapheresis means the process comprising
(a) the withdrawal of blood from a donor,
(b) the separation of the plasma from the red blood cells, and
(c) the return of the red blood cells to the donor; (plasmaphérèse)
- practitioner
practitioner means a person registered and licensed under the laws of a province to practise the profession of medicine; (praticien)
- red blood cell suspension
red blood cell suspension means red blood cells suspended in sodium chloride solution that have been collected by plasmapheresis and stabilized against clotting. (suspension de globules rouges)
