Regulations Respecting the Stabilization of the Price of White Pea Beans Marketed During the Period Beginning September 1, 1985 and Ending August 31, 1986

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and the Treasury Board, pursuant to sections 2Footnote *, 8.2Footnote **, 10Footnote *** and 11Footnote **** of the Agricultural Stabilization Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the stabilization of the price of white pea beans marketed during the period beginning September 1, 1985 and ending August 31, 1986.

Short Title

 These Regulations may be cited as the White Pea Bean Stabilization Regulations, 1985-86.

Interpretation

 In these Regulations,

Act

Act means the Agricultural Stabilization Act; (Loi)

producer

producer means a person residing in Canada and producing white pea beans in Canada; (producteur)

white pea beans

white pea beans means Canada white pea beans (phaseolus vulgaris) of the grades set out in Schedule I to the Canada Grain Act grown in Canada by a producer during the period beginning September 1, 1985 and ending August 31, 1986 and sold by the producer on or before August 31, 1986. (haricots blancs)

Designated Commodity

 White pea beans are hereby designated as an agricultural commodity for the purposes of the Act.

Prescribed Percentage

 For the purposes of determining the prescribed price of white pea beans for the period beginning September 1, 1985 and ending August 31, 1986, the percentage of the base price of white pea beans for that period is hereby prescribed to be 90 per cent.
