Secure Air Travel Regulations

The following provision is not in force.

Marginal note:Application

 These Regulations apply in respect of the following passenger-carrying flights if the passengers are subject to screening that is carried out — in Canada, by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority or, in another country, by the person or entity responsible for the screening of persons and goods in that country — before boarding:

  • (a) domestic flights that depart from Canadian aerodromes and that are conducted by air carriers under Subpart 5 of Part VII of the Canadian Aviation Regulations; and

  • (b) international flights that depart from or will arrive at Canadian aerodromes and that are conducted by air carriers

    • (i) under Subpart 1 of Part VII of the Canadian Aviation Regulations using aircraft that have a maximum certificated take-off weight of more than 8 618 kg (19,000 pounds) or have a seating configuration, excluding crew seats, of 20 or more, or

    • (ii) under Subpart 5 of Part VII of the Canadian Aviation Regulations.
