CANADA SMALL BUSINESS FINANCING ACT

Order designating the Minister of Industry for the purposes of the Act, as the Minister in relation to small businesses in Quebec, the Minister for the purposes of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency Act in relation to small businesses in the four maritime provinces and the Minister of Western Diversification in relation to small businesses in the four western provinces

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to the definition Minister in section 2 of the Canada Small Business Financing Act, hereby designates:

  • (a) subject to paragraphs (b) and (c), the Minister of Industry, a member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada, as the Minister for the purposes of the Canada Small Business Financing Act and as the Minister for the purposes of that Act in relation to small businesses located in the Province of Quebec;

  • (b) the Minister for the purposes of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency Act, a member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada, as the Minister for the purposes of the Canada Small Business Financing Act in relation to small businesses located in the Provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland; and

  • (c) the Minister of Western Economic Diversification, a member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada, as the Minister for the purposes of the Canada Small Business Financing Act in relation to small businesses located in the Provinces of Manitoba, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
