His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to the definition "Minister" in section 2 of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Act and paragraph (c.1)* of the definition "appropriate Minister" in section 2 of the Financial Administration Act, is pleased hereby

• (a) to revoke Order in Council P.C. 1993-1469 of June 25, 1993**;

• (b) to designate the Minister of Industry, Science and Technology, a member of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada, as the Minister for the purposes of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Act; and

• (c) to designate the Minister of Industry, Science and Technology as the appropriate Minister with respect to the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council for the purposes of the Financial Administration Act.
