Health of Animals Regulations
7 (1) For the purpose of preventing the introduction of disease and of controlling the importation of animals and things into Canada, the Minister may, based on such criteria as the prevalence of disease in a country or part of a country, the time since the last outbreak of the disease, the surveillance programs in effect, the measures taken to prevent the introduction or spread of the disease, natural barriers to the movement of the disease and the zoosanitary infrastructure, designate in writing, countries or parts of countries which the Minister considers to be free from the diseases specified in the designation.
(2) The Minister may amend or repeal the designation.
(3) For the purpose of these Regulations, the Minister may describe, in writing, a part of a country.
