Whereas the Security Council of the United Nations, by Resolution 717 of October 16, 1991, established a United Nations Advance Mission in Cambodia to assist in the initial implementation of the Agreements on a Comprehensive Political Settlement of the Cambodia Conflict, signed in Paris on October 23, 1991;And Whereas it appears advisable that Canada participate in that Mission;Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Defence, pursuant to paragraph 31(1)(b)* of the National Defence Act, is pleased hereby to place on active service beyond Canada thoseR.S., c. 31 (1st Supp.), s. 60 (Sch. I, item 14)officers and non-commissioned members of the regular force of the Canadian Forces, andofficers and non-commissioned members of the reserve force of the Canadian Forceswho are part of, or serve in immediate support of, the United Nations Advance Mission in Cambodia.
