CANADA POST CORPORATION ACTReproduction of Postage Stamps RegulationsRegulations Respecting the Reproduction of Postage StampsShort Title

1These Regulations may be cited as the Reproduction of Postage Stamps Regulations.

Reproductions Authorized

2Subject to sections 3 and 4, reproductions of postage stamps(a)may be made and published to illustrate or accompany a news item or article in a newspaper, magazine or periodical; and(b)may be made and published(i)in a philatelic publication or catalogue, or(ii)on the stationery of a philatelic club or society, other than on envelopes or other like containers or articles.

3Any reproduction made and published pursuant to section 2 shall be(a)at least 50 per cent larger or 50 per cent smaller, by area measurement, than the postage stamp of which it is a reproduction; or(b)clearly defaced by means of a line that is embodied in the plate or die from which the reproduction is made.

4Plates or dies used or employed in the reproduction of postage stamps pursuant to section 2 shall be made entirely of babbit or other soft metal or material.

Reproduction with Consent of the Canada Post Corporation

5In addition to reproductions of postage stamps authorized by section 2, reproduction of postage stamps may, where the Canada Post Corporation considers that it will be in the public interest, be made or published with the written consent of the Canada Post Corporation, which consent may be sought by an application in writing addressed to the following address:DIRECTOR OF STAMP PRODUCTSCANADA POST2701 RIVERSIDE DROTTAWA, ONTARIO K1A 0B1SOR/81-845, s. 1; SOR/2000-199, s. 7
