LIST OF REPEALED STATUTES (List of statutes repealed between 1985 and 2021 and removed from the Table of Public Statutes and Responsible Ministers one year after the date of repeal.)
Note to users
Acts in the following categories are listed alphabetically:
- Agreements — Income Tax, Estate Tax, Succession Duty, and related tax matters
- Agreements — Trade, Commerce and related matters
- Bridges
- Electoral Districts
- Provincial Boundaries
- Treaties of Peace
Immediately under the title of each Act is the equivalent title, printed in italics, of the Act in the other official language. This will assist users in finding the Act in the French version of this Table.
The name of the minister who has responsibility for the administration of the Act is listed under the title of the Act. Where a minister is expressly designated in an Act as the minister responsible, that minister’s name is given. If a minister is designated by order in council, the registration number of the designation order (SI) is included. Where no minister has been specifically designated, either in the Act or by order in council, the name of the minister who introduced the bill in Parliament is given. It should also be noted that this Table does not necessarily reflect changes in ministerial responsibilities resulting from orders made under the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties Act.
The section references in bold face under an Act indicate the provisions of that Act that have been added or amended. Users should refer to the coming into force (CIF) entry for each amendment at the end of the list of amendments to an Act. CIF dates are given in day, month and year order (e.g. 05.01.06 is 5 January, 2006).
The terms SOR and SI are references to Statutory Orders and Regulations or Statutory Instruments as published in the Canada Gazette, Part II. CIF refers to the date of coming into force. (E) indicates an amendment to the English version only and (F) indicates an amendment to the French version only.
