Regulations Respecting the Stabilization of the Price of Canola for the 1989 Period

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and the Treasury Board, pursuant to sections 2Footnote *, 10Footnote ** and 14 of the Agricultural Stabilization Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the stabilization of the price of canola for the 1989 period.

Short Title

 These Regulations may be cited as the Canola 1989 Period Stabilization Regulations.

Interpretation

 In these Regulations,

Act

Act means the Agricultural Stabilization Act; (Loi)

canola

canola means canola, as defined in section 2 of the Seed Regulations, that is grown in Canada outside the designated area, as defined in the Canadian Wheat Board Act, and sold by a producer in the 1989 period; (colza)

period

period means, in respect of a year, the period beginning on July 1 of that year and ending on June 30 of the following year. (période)

Designated Commodity

 Canola is hereby designated as an agricultural commodity for the purposes of the Act.

Prescribed Percentage

 For the purpose of determining the prescribed price of canola for the 1989 period, the percentage of the base price of canola is hereby prescribed to be 90 per cent.
