Order Respecting Persons Declared to Have a Special Status

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minsiter of Energy, Mines and Resources, pursuant to subsection 45(6) of the Canadian Ownership and Control Determination ActFootnote *, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Order respecting persons declared to have a special status.

SHORT TITLE

1. This Order may be cited as the Special Status Order, 1983.

2. The following persons are declared to have a special status within the meaning of subsection 45(6) of the Canadian Ownership and Control Determination Act:

  • 1. Alberta Energy Company Ltd.

  • 2. British Columbia Resources Investment Corporation

  • 3. Canada Development Corporation

  • 4. CDC Oil & Gas Ltd.

  • 5. Cooperative Energy Corporation

  • 6. Cooperative Energy Development Corporation

  • 7. Onexco Oil & Gas Ltd.

  • 8. Ontario Energy Corporation

  • 9. Ontario Energy Resources Ltd.
